STROH and pears - what a great pair

The sweet taste of pears, a hint of vanilla and a drip of honey, combined with STROH and tonic water – these are the best ingredients for a perfect summer cocktail.

Ingredients for 2 Glasses

  • 2 pears (medium-sized)
  • 125 ml STROH 40
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 tbsp. sugar (depending on the pears’ sweetness)
  • 1 vanilla bean
  • juice of a lemon half
  • 2 tbsp. honey
  • some ice cubes
  • 4 tbsp. STROH 40
  • 300 ml tonic water
  • 1 lemon half sliced for garnish



  • Peel the pears.
  • Pour 125 ml STROH and 100 ml of water in a small saucepan. Add the pears and optionally a tablespoon of sugar and poach on a low level for 12-18 minutes (depending on the degree of ripeness).
  • Let the pears cool down. Put some ice cubes and the pears in two glasses.
  • Squeeze the lemon. Mix the lemon juice with honey, pour into the glasses.
  • Scrape out the vanilla bean and add the vanilla seeds.
  • Add two tablespoons of STROH and pour in tonic.
  • Garnish with a few lemon wedges and a sprig of rosemary and serve immediately.
