A journey to the tropics awaits

The name canary milk brings to mind the Viennese term "Kanarimilch" for vanilla sauce, perhaps as a homage to the distant regions where the precious vanilla pod is cultivated. This exotic cocktail, blending aromatic STROH, refreshing Riesling, and enticing vanilla syrup, tastes like a voyage to a tropical island. Cheers!

Ingredients for 1 Glass

  • 3 cl STROH 40
  • 4 cl dry Riesling (with crisp acidity)
  • 1 bar spoon Powidl (plum jam)
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1.5 cl vanilla syrup
  • 1 cl herbal bitters
  • fresh orange zest

Preparation

Shake all ingredients vigorously with ice cubes and strain into a pre-cooled milk pitcher. Perfume the cocktail with the orange zest’s essential oils by expressing the peel over the drink by giving it a good twist, allowing the oils to drop into the cocktail. Additionally, you can place the squeezed orange peel into the glass.

Goes very well with small Buchtel pastries or a piece of warm curd cheese strudel.
