STROH is on target for Russia
In the first year after the management buy-out the company had a successful year with a growth of 8,6% - despite some recession in the duty-free-business. The growth is mainly based on the success in the export countries, and in the fact that several new distribution contracts were made in the past year, like in Germany, Lithuania and Netherlands. Now STROH is heading to “conquer” Russia. The first nine month as owner of STROH were very intense for the new owner Harold Burstein, who set quite eager targets – further expansion of the brand, opening of new international relevant markets for STROH and in consequence increase production and sales. In these days of worldwide economic crisis these targets are even more ambitious than in August 2008.
STROH is already exporting to 44 countries around the globe and the share of the exports is already at 66% of the total business. Business in the home-country Austria remained stable at a very high level, as Harold Burstein says. And : “Our export business was growing with 10%. Good chances we see in Russia – they have a great tea culture there, which is in favour for the usage of our product. So we are looking forward to the first winter season in Russia this year.”
